GRK Screws in Antarctica!

GRK’s screws are presently being used to restore Scott’s Hut, which was built by the famed explorer Robert Falcon Scott in 1911, during his Terra Nova expedition.

Scott’s Hut is listed as one of the 100 most significant historic structures at threat from age and decay, according to the World Heritage Fund. It is located between New Zealand’s Scott Base and the USA’s McMurdo Research Station on Ross Island, Antarctica.

These Google images show the location of Scott Base and its layout.

If you look just to the right of the volcano shaped hill, you’ll see McMurdo Research Station.

The work is being done by the Antarctic Heritage Trust which is a New Zealand-based organization responsible for the restoration and maintenance of the historic buildings in the Ross Sea region of Antarctica.
