RSS™ Rugged Structural Screw Test Data

GRK Fasteners utilizes strict quality control procedures. Every batch of screws produced is independently random sampled and quality controlled to the highest standards.

Accreditations for independent test laboratories include:
ICC, CNLA, TÜV, Ü, ISO, DAR.

Installation procedure for Fasteners

Use appropriate driver bit.
No pre-drilling except where wood limitations require.
DO NOT use deck cleaners which contain bleach with coated metals.
Always consult wood supplier's / manufacturer's recommendations.
Metal to wood connections: avoid damage to the coating by pre-drilling the metal.
Cedar & Redwood: For best results use PHEinox Stainless Steel. If using coated fasteners, seal wood immediately with a quality sealer to lessen the likelihood of tanic acid stains.

ULTIMATE LOAD VALUES Tensile and Shear

1 Overall length of fastener is measured from the underside of the head to bottom of the tip. See Figure 1.
2 Length of thread includes tip. See detailed illustration, Figure 1.
3 Minor thread, shank and outside thread diameters are shown in table without manufacturing tolerances.
4 Bending yield strength determined in accordance with ASTM D 1575 using the minor thread diameter.

1Fastener withdrawal was tested in accordance with ASTM D 1761.
2Withdrawal values (W) shall be multiplied by the length of thread penetration in the main member (including tip).

For S1: 1 inch = 25.4 mm; 1lbf/in = 175.127 N/m.
1Fastener pull-through testing was performed in accordance with ASTM D 1037 with 3/4" thick side members.
